About The South Eden Plantation Wedding Venue
South Eden Plantation has undergone many transformations since its original establishment in 1825. Originally spanning over 1,500 acres of beautiful Southern property, it was passed down from generation to generation until torn apart by sibling rivalry in the early 1950s. In 2009, it found a new owner in Ms. Kimberly. She had the vision to restore the archaic property to its beautiful glory to create a retreat for anyone looking for peace, healing, and happiness. Since its stunning renovation, many couples have chosen to host their weddings at South Eden in one of its many indoor or outdoor venue spaces.
One of the main values upon which the South Eden Plantation was revived is faith. Their commitment to Christian values is present in many aspects of their work. If faith is something important to you and your partner, that may be an added draw to the venue.

You can also seat guests on the Chandelier Porch (+40) or the Magnolia Field (+400) for an indoor/outdoor wedding. That gives you the best of both worlds!
The Magnolia Field is an exquisite outdoor space surrounded by iconic Southern magnolia trees and centuries-old oak trees. Magical string lights light the venue to create a sea of twinkling stars for guests to dine beneath. Whether you choose to use the Magnolia Field for your South Eden Plantation ceremony or your reception, you can comfortably accommodate up to 400 guests. For a ceremony, you can choose to exchange vows in front of the stately Koi Pond Oak Tree or the Ivory Greenery Wall, which is cloaked in thick green ivy.
The Pool House
The 1934 Pool House Front is perfect for a ceremony (300 guests) or a cocktail hour (150 guests.) Inside the Pool House is an indoor saltwater pool with a greenhouse-style interior that lets in plenty of natural light and opulent potted plants for a touch of greenery. Booking this space also includes an outdoor courtyard with a white pergola and brick detailing. It’s a great spot for a unique cocktail hour, a small ceremony, or intimate reception.
The South Eden Plantation Chapel
The South Eden Chapel was originally known as the Showboat Theatre, constructed to mimic the famous Broadway Theatre. The walls are a rare white Cypress wood, and the curved wooden ceiling is warm and full of charm. With a stage, a balcony, a full bar, and private bathrooms, it’s a completely original place to celebrate your wedding. Plus, you can tell all of your guests how it is historically lauded as being the first place Gone With the Wind was ever shown!
While the locations above are perfect for larger weddings, they also have several other spots for gorgeous, more intimate weddings. These include the Brick Exposed Studio with stable doors and a wood beam ceiling and Oak Lane with a canopy of mammoth oak trees and plenty of shade for your guests. The Sunken Garden and Garden Side are beautiful outdoor spaces with plenty of greenery, flowers, and romantic lighting. These spaces, while great for small ceremonies and receptions, also make great cocktail hour spots for bigger weddings, too.
