There are some wedding days that stay with you forever and Ginger & Ray’s South Eden wedding is one I’ll never forget. As a Tallahassee wedding photographer, South Eden has always been one of my all-time favorite venues in the North Florida & South Georgia area. The historic architecture, the moss-draped oak trees, the southern charm, it creates the most magical backdrop for couples who want their wedding to feel elegant, warm, and deeply romantic.
From the moment I arrived, I knew this day was going to be special. Ginger and Ray are two of the sweetest souls, and watching their love unfold throughout the day reminded me exactly why I adore being a North Florida wedding photographer.

A First Look Full of Emotion
Before the ceremony, Ginger and Ray chose to share a private first look, a moment that will forever be one of my favorites from their day.
Ginger stepped out in her dreamy, layered tulle gown that floated with every movement. She looked like she stepped straight out of a romance film. When Ray turned around and saw her, he was completely speechless. Tears filled his eyes, and you could feel the love between them.
It was tender, intimate, and absolutely unforgettable.
This is exactly why I encourage couples to consider a first look, it creates space to breathe, connect, and truly soak in your wedding day together.

A Ceremony at the Historic South Eden Pool House
South Eden’s historic pool house is one of the most iconic ceremony locations in North Florida & South Georgia, and Ginger & Ray couldn’t have chosen a more breathtaking spot.
The soft natural light, the vintage architecture, and the surrounding greenery framed their vows beautifully. Guests sat quietly as the couple promised forever, and the entire moment felt peaceful, heartfelt, and deeply personal.
As a photographer, I love the way the pool house photographs, clean, timeless, and full of southern elegance.

Reception Under the Oak Trees at the South Eden Chapel
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the South Eden chapel for a reception celebration that felt both intimate and magical. The towering oak trees outside created the dreamiest canopy, and the glow from inside the chapel set the tone for a warm, inviting evening.
Inside, family and friends gathered to toast the newlyweds, share laughter, and dance the night away. The atmosphere was filled with joy and heartfelt energy, one of those receptions where everyone felt like part of the same family.

Sunset Wedding Portraits At South Eden
As the evening unfolded, Ginger and Ray quietly snuck away from their reception for a few sunset portraits, and I’m so glad they did. The light at South Eden completely transformed as the sun dipped lower, creating the softest glow that felt entirely different from the light earlier in the day during their first look. Their sunset portraits were more romantic, more intimate, and undeniably dreamy, exactly the kind of light that brings movement, emotion, and warmth into photos. This is why I’m always a fan of stepping away for just a few minutes at sunset to capture additional bride and groom portraits. It allows couples to slow down, reconnect, and take advantage of the most flattering light of the entire day, resulting in images that feel timeless and full of emotion.
