Lincoln Memorial | Washington DC
Kathryn and Jonathan met on a dating app called Coffee Meets bagels. They had their first date on April 1, 2019 at Piedmont Park. They spent the entire time walking and talking, straight through dinner and four hours later they were still standing in a parking lot talking about pies, of all things! From that point on, they knew they had something special.
Later that year, Jonathan got a once in a lifetime opportunity to work at a dream job in DC. They started their long distance relationship right before the pandemic hit. Kathryn made the jump to move to Arlington that April to be with him, and they’ve been together ever since.
Jonathan proposed this past December with a Christmas ornament of two otters holding hands with a beautiful engagement ring on the ribbon. Kathryn went to place the ornament on the tree, and she turned around to see him on one knee asking her to marry him.
They are SO excited to be getting married later this year in the place they met surrounded by their friends and family! We took their engagement photos here in DC because it represents so much of their life starting together. Here in DC, the memorials can get very crowded with tourists so we started their engagement session right at sunrise. It was worth the early wake up call!
