A Rustic & Romantic Wedding at Shiloh Farm | Matt + Taylor | Tallahassee Wedding Photographer
Some wedding days just stick with you — the people, the energy, the setting, the way the light hit just right during golden hour. Matt and Taylor’s wedding at Shiloh Farm in Tallahassee was all of that and more. Their day was emotional, full of laughter, and completely true to them — a beautiful mix of rustic charm and heartfelt connection.
As their photographer, I was honored to capture every moment — from the quiet excitement of getting ready to the wild dance floor celebration that closed out the night.

A Warm & Welcoming Venue: Shiloh Farm, Tallahassee
If you’re not familiar with Shiloh Farm, it’s a hidden gem just outside the heart of Tallahassee. The venue is known for its beautiful wooden barn, open green fields, and Southern hospitality. It’s the perfect setting for couples who want a blend of rustic elegance and relaxed charm — and it photographed like a dream.
Matt and Taylor chose this venue because it felt personal — spacious enough for their friends and family, but intimate enough to stay grounded in what mattered most: celebrating their love.
Getting Ready Moments
The day started in the bridal cottage at Shiloh, with Taylor surrounded by her bridesmaids — soft music playing, mimosas flowing, and happy tears already happening. Taylor wore a romantic gown with a soft train, and when she stepped into her dress, the entire room went quiet. She looked stunning.
Meanwhile, Matt and his groomsmen got ready in the groom’s suite, just a few steps away. He kept things light and relaxed (classic Matt), but the nerves definitely kicked in once he opened a handwritten note from Taylor. Cue the first tears of the day.

The First Look (and a Few Happy Tears)
Matt and Taylor opted for a first look. When Matt turned around and saw Taylor for the first time, his expression said everything. It was such a tender, quiet moment that allowed them to ground themselves before the celebration started — and gave us time for some of my favorite portraits of the day.
Pro tip for future couples: if you want to calm your nerves and enjoy a few peaceful moments together before the whirlwind begins, a first look is a beautiful way to do it.

Ceremony In The Chapel
The ceremony took place in the chapel — it was absolutely stunning. The florals were a mix of soft neutrals and muted blush tones, and the arch was beautifully draped in greenery.
What made the ceremony extra special was how personal it felt. Their officiant (a close family friend) shared stories from Matt and Taylor’s relationship, and they wrote their own vows — raw, honest, and filled with emotion. There wasn’t a dry eye in the front few rows.

Reception in the Barn
After the ceremony, guests headed into the barn for cocktail hour while we took family and couple portraits. The reception space was decorated with long farmhouse tables, soft candlelight, eucalyptus runners, and twinkle lights that gave everything a warm, romantic glow.
Their first dance felt straight out of a movie. From heartfelt toasts to surprise dance performances (Matt’s groomsmen really brought it), the energy in the barn was electric. Everyone was so ready to celebrate.

The Perfect Ending
As the night wrapped up, Matt and Taylor shared a private last dance in the empty barn while guests lined up for the glow stick exit. It was quiet, sweet, and such a beautiful way to end the night.
Then came the glow stick sendoff — surrounded by friends, cheering, laughter, and one last kiss before driving off into newlywed life.

Final Thoughts
Matt and Taylor’s wedding was more than just beautiful — it was full of meaning, joy, and intention. As their photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more genuine couple or a more perfect venue.
Shiloh Farm is a great venue in the Tallahassee area, and it offers a timeless backdrop for couples who want a wedding that feels both elevated and grounded in nature.
