There’s something so effortlessly romantic about an engagement session by the water, and Mike and Heather’s session was the perfect mix of coastal charm and downtown elegance. As a Tallahassee wedding photographer, I love capturing couples in spaces that feel both relaxed and timeless — and this North Florida coastal town gave us the dreamiest backdrop.

From the moment we started, it was clear how much joy and love these two share. We began their session by the marina, where the sparkling water and sailboats set the scene for intimate moments full of laughter and connection. Heather’s blue-and-white floral dress perfectly complemented the coastal vibes, while Mike’s classic button-down and navy trousers added a polished touch. Together, they looked like they stepped right out of a romantic summer novel.

As the evening light softened, we wandered into the nearby downtown streets, filled with charming brick-lined walkways and historic architecture. This part of the session brought out the playful side of Mike and Heather — from sweet kisses to laughter-filled strolls hand-in-hand. One of my favorite moments was when Mike swept Heather off her feet in a joyful embrace right in the middle of the street, their happiness lighting up the entire scene.

The golden light reflecting off the water and warm brick buildings made this session feel so magical. It was the perfect mix of coastal serenity and downtown energy — and such a beautiful reflection of Mike and Heather’s personalities and love story.
